A serial killer stalks the passages of a medieval monastery...
A Maze of Murders is a thrilling murder mystery from the masterful Paul Doherty, featuring medieval sleuth Kathryn Swinbrooke. Perfect for fans of Susanna Gregory and Robin Hobb.
A violent past haunts Sir Walter Maltravers of Ingoldby Hall in Canterbury. Decades before the War of the Roses, he served in the fanatical bodyguard of Constantine XI Palaeologus, the last Byzantine emperor. But instead of defending the emperor to his death, Maltravers fled, taking with him the Lacrima Christi - a holy relic of incalculable value. When the Lacrima Christi disappears from Canterbury's Franciscan monastery, Sir Walter fears he is being tracked down by the emperor's vengeful loyalists. Days later, Maltravers's head is found impaled on a pole. Apothecary Kathryn Swinbrooke and her fiancée, Colum Murtagh, are called to investigate the crime. As the investigation begins, it becomes clear that all was not as it seemed within the cosy confines of Ingoldby Hall. The death toll is mounting, and if Swinbrooke and Murtagh don't nail down the killer - or killers - soon, they could be next.

Another great addition to the Kathryn Swinbrooke series. Only one more book to read. The 1470's were not a great period, but very enjoyable to read aboutProduct details

A Maze of Murders Kathryn Swinbrooke Mysteries Book 6 A hunt for a killer in medieval Canterbury Kathryn Swinbrooke Medieval Mysteries edition by Paul Doherty Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Loved this book. The characters were interesting and I enjoy the interaction between them. I would recommend it.
I stumbled onto Paul Doherty when looking for a new accurate, historical series while waiting for may favorite authors to release new books. He is a great choice, having written over 100 novels. I have read all of the Katherine Swinbooke novels and have now started the Hugh Corbett series. These are great, easy reads that are historically accurate.
A very good book. Read for the second time. I really enjoy following her thread of logic. That had to be a really bloody period. All in all a very fun book and I heartily recommend it. I really enjoy books by Paul Doherty.
A good read, but I did figure it out before the end.
Paul Doherty does a great job in this series.
I have been intrigued by Paul Doherty's ability to weave mystery in a realistic historical setting. That seems to be the reason I continue to enjoy his books. This was no exception. The maze,a young wife, religion, greed, lots of suspects and a women with a knowledge of medicine at the center of solving the mystery. That's why this was a clever story.
Paul Doherty writes with compassion and logic. His characters are well developed. His stories always satisfy and reach a believable conclusion.
Another great addition to the Kathryn Swinbrooke series. Only one more book to read. The 1470's were not a great period, but very enjoyable to read about
