[Siren Classic ManLove Erotic Alternative Fantasy Romance, M/M, demons] Nicholas Dane is happy that his friend Gabe has found the love of his life, even if he can never return to the surface world. The same cannot be said for Nick. He knows who his demon mate is, but Storym won't give him the time of day. Storym knows the surface dweller, Nick, is his Demonas Amate. But he also knows that claiming the man would place Nick's life in danger, and Storym can't allow that. He has a hard enough time dealing with Nick's need to save the world. He doesn't need to bring more danger to the man. Afraid that he won't be able to deny himself if he stays, Storym leaves without saying goodbye to Nick. His heart broken, Nick returns to the surface world to lose himself in his work as a police detective. Unfortunately, the shadow demons seem to know who he is, and they start coming after him. Nick's only chance is to return to Jinnistan. But even there, his life is in danger because someone has their sights on Nick, and they will let nothing interfere in their plans, not even an Air Demon bent on claiming his mate. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Air Demon [Elemental Demons 2] Siren Publishing Classic ManLove edition by Stormy Glenn Literature Fiction eBooks

I rated this three stars. It's the second one in a series ("Fire Demon" being the first), and while I find both books to be about 3.5 stars, I rated "Fire Demon" four stars (rounding up), so I'll rate this one at three so they both average out to three-and-a-half. It's sexy, fun, and adventurous, but it ultimately raises some questions and contains many things that seem highly implausible, even within the fantasy setting.

In "Fire Demon", Nick and Gabe traveled to Jinnistan, a city deep within the Earth, because Gabe was the mate of the fire demon Tehmper. Both Nick and Gabe are detectives, and they let the demons take them to Jinnistan to escape rogue demons (what we call vampires). Tehmper and Storym are elemental demons, and while Gabe is Tehmper's mate, Nick is Storym's "demonas amate". The only problem is that Storym doesn't seem to like Nick and doesn't want to have anything to do with him.

What Nick doesn't know is that Storym is absolutely crazy about Nick. He likes him so much, he can't bring himself to put Nick in danger by claiming him as his mate. The mates of the demon warriors can be in grave danger as they're often targeted by the demon warriors' enemies, and Storym will not subject Nick to that. Rather than explaining that to Nick, he keeps his emotions contained and keeps Nick at a distance. When Storym volunteers for a mission that will take him away for a few months, Nick feels the rejection and returns to the surface world to continue on with his life. As one could expect in these tales, this acts as a catalyst between the two.

The characters are fun and interesting. It's humorous how the demons refer to the men as "demonas amate", even addressing them with the title instead of using their names. It's also fun to see how ignorant the demons are of surface-dwellers' customs land lifestyles. But that's part of the problem. Ms. Glenn has created a new world deep within the Earth, but didn't seem to plan it out carefully. Jinnistan is underground, but has rolling forests and blue skies. It simply doesn't make sense. Also, while Storym can control the air and wind like you'd expect from an air elemental, the things he does with his little tornadoes seems a bit far-fetched. Those little buggers act more like solidified air rather than just wind, and can do things that are quite unbelievable.

So while the characers and setting and pace are typical of a fun Stormy Glenn novel, too many things raise questions in the readers mind. Some things are very unplausible, even in the fantasy setting, and others just leave you wondering. You're trying to picture Jinnistan, but have a hard time because the description doesn't match up with what you've been told about it. Becase of these things, I only rate the story 3.5 stars (rounded down this time because some of the things those little solid tornadoes did were quite bizarre and unbelievable).

Air Demon [Elemental Demons 2] Siren Publishing Classic ManLove edition by Stormy Glenn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I read this book first, because I didn't know about fire demon, and loved it so much I had to read the first one, but this one by far was my favorite one I liked all the stuff Nick and Storym go through to finally be together.
Loved this book. It mixed the paranormal and romance incredibly. It had the excitment of a thriller and the romance to add heat. I thought this and the first book were great.
I love to read saga's! Couldn't put it down! Waiting for more from this author!!!!!!
I was excited to read Nick and Storym's story. I also like the mystery thrown into the mix. I still think Fire Demon will be my fave but I was not disappointed.
Look, I loved this book. I realize that it was short, just like all of her books are. But it was also fulfilling. That is usually the argument I have with this type of novella. You pay 5 bucks and you literally get 5 chapters, with just a glimpse of character and plot. Well, this one is phenomenal!! Would I have liked more? You bet! But unwanted more because the story was so delicious you couldn't help but wish there was more to go with it. It is essential to read the books in order to get the full affect, because they all blend together, but boy these are terrific books! I enjoyed the storyline, the drama, the sex (HUBBA, HUBBA) and the development of the characters was just beautiful! I am itching in my pants for the third book, the next element is earth. And I cannot wait to feel it move!
